Difference between OSB Board and Particle Board

The full name of OSB is oriented strand board, it is source to the scientific name of "Osong board", which is a new type of board from Europe and developed rapidly in international market in the 1970s and 1980s. Its production process is similar to particle board. Both of them are made of stone glue


pressed to board after crushing and slicing wood. The difference of them are on the size of the sheet and the layer of paving. The thin slices of particle board are small, and it has 1mm balance layer in the middle. There are three layers in total, while OSB is five layers. OSB board is taking small-diameter timber, thinning timber and wood core as raw materials, and is processed into long shavings (usually 40-100mm long, 5-20 mm wide, 0.3-0.7 mm thick).
