Advantages and Disadvantages of Plywood

 Plywood is a construction wood sheet made up of thin layers of wood veneers glued together placing wood grains 90 degrees to one another.  That leads to a solid board or piece of plywood that can be used for a wide array of applications. Below are the pros and cons of Plywood:


 

Advantages:

1. Plywood features durability and high strength. It is large-scale used in engineering and civil projects because of the use of many layers of wood veneer.

2. Due to the way in which plywood is made, you can customize the thickness that you want ranging from 6mm to 32mm.

3. It is easy to cut in shapes and can be bent. Plywood is flexible and it can be bent and cut into various shapes.

4. It is relatively lightweight and inexpensive.

5. It is convenient to use any polish and paint on plywood with no worries.

 

Disadvantages:

1. It is not durable like wood.

2. It is hard to saw for its materials and structure.

3. Compared with wood, plywood may release volatile organic compounds into the air.
