The New Standard of MDF Board Implemented on 1st June

The national standard GB/T11718 "Medium Density Fiberboard" was first released in 1999 and revised for the first time in 2009. The latest version of the standard was proposed by the State Forestry and Grassland Administration and summarized by the National Standardization Technical Committee for Wood-based Panels (SAC/TC198), released on November 26, 2021, and implemented from June 1, 2022.



The test method of the "physical and mechanical properties" item of the new standard phase is basically based on the relevant provisions in GB/T17657-2013 "Test methods for physical and chemical properties of wood-based panels and veneer wood-based panels".


In addition, the size of the sample affecting the test operation and whether it needs to be balanced, etc. are clearly explained. In the judgment of the results, the calculation of the 5% quantile value and the 95% quantile value is also introduced. Each testing institution can give a compliance judgment more conveniently. Overall, the new standard is more scientific and reasonable.
